Alloy Wheel Powder Coating

Volkswagen Diamond Cutting Alloy Wheels Braintree Essex

What is alloy wheel powder coating?

Powder coating is a popular and effective method for enhancing both the appearance and durability of alloy wheels. This process involves applying a dry, finely ground powder to the surface of the wheel. The powder is electrostatically charged, which causes it to adhere to the wheel's surface. The coated wheel is then cured in an oven, where the powder melts and forms a smooth and protective finish.

We have a huge range of colour options available in matte, satin and high gloss finishes. Give us a call or book an appointment at our office in Rayne, Essex to discuss your alloy wheel powder coating options.

Our Process

How does powder coating work?
Stage 1 | Remove Wheels

The first step is the careful removal of the wheels from the vehicle, we then remove all tyres, weights & valves etc ensuring they are ready for refurbishment.

Wheel removal preperation
Stage 2 | Wheel Preparation

The wheel surface is bathed in a chemical stripping tank to remove any existing coatings or contaminants. Following this, precise sanding is carried out to create a smooth and uniform surface ready for powder coating application. The wheels are then inspected to ensure there are no cracks or deep scratches that would require attention.

Stage 3 | Powder Coating Application

After all preperation, the wheel is evenly coated with the chosen powder colour or finish. This stage demands precision to achieve a flawless coating that enhances both aesthetics and durability.

Stage 4 | Reassemble & Refit

The final step involves reassembling the wheels, tyres, valves etc. The wheels are then electronically balanced with weights placed on the inside of the alloy so not to affect the appearance and wheels carefully refitted onto the vehicle..
